can you help me?

I'm searching for a book for a customer when a woman aggressively approaches the register, sweatshirt in hand. As I'm speaking to my woman about the book, clothes-woman interrupts and says, "Hey!" I glance to her in the "yes, i've seen you, you are my next concern, but you don't get to cut in line" type of glance. I continue to talk to my book customer, when "EXCUSE ME!! I need help" overthrows our conversation. Didn't you learn in grade school to wait your turn in line? The book customer says thank you, she'll be fine finding the book, and I turn to Noisy.
"May I help you?"
"Yeah, this isn't my size, I need an extra large."
"I'm really sorry, but this is the book department. I'm sure someone working in merchandise would be happy to help you." I point back to the department from where she came.
"Yeah, that girl is too busy to help me, so I guess you have to." She says this sarcastically, as if I was trying to pawn her off onto someone else.
This is the thing: I can't help her. I have no idea where to go for another size, I'm all alone on the floor, and, quite honestly, this isn't my responsibility. If the person in GM needs help, she should call another person from that department. It makes me mad that they're not calling extra people and that I'm getting "the angries."
"I'm really sorry, but I'm in charge of books, I don't work with the merchandise."
"Well I suggest you choose to work with the merchandise or I'm leaving."
Okay, don't threaten me.
"I'll call someone else in that department to come help you, but I really can't do anything else."
She snorts, "Thanks so much. You've really helped me out."
I know she's being sarcastic, but I say, "No! Thank you soooo much for understanding!!"

Really, it's frustrating. I mean, it's either "jack of all trades, master of none," or to be good at one thing and not know everything. Personally, I think it's better that I know an extreme amount about books. I don't care about clothing and would never have taken the job if it involved the precious insignia crap. I'm here to work in a bookstore. Yes, it involves ringing up college clothing, but I put a lot into my job, and to have some bitchy lady say that I'm not helping her is insulting to me. I canNOT do everything. And just because I share a floor with GM shouldn't mean that I get shit on because of their lack of coverage.

Yes, I'm pissed. I do my job very well. I shouldn't get yelled at because I can't to other people's jobs. Working in a clothing store does not interest me. And I'm kind of about to flip out.
