unbelievable.

This woman and her daughter walk up to the register with a bag. "I'd like to exchange this coat for these items." She pulls the coat out of the bag and hands it to me. "Do you have a receipt?" "It's in the bag." I check the bag. Nothing. "It's in there, I put it in myself," she snaps as she sees me looking around the register. "I really don't see a slip, I'm sorry," I say. She turns to her daughter, who is searching in her bag. Turning back to me, she continues to insist that I must not see it. And then...she turns back to her daughter: "She," indicating to me, "lost the receipt."
There are no words. Really. I grab the shirts and start doing the return. I print out the slip and ask her to sign, blah blah. "Is that with my discount?" MOTHER FUCKER. "No, sorry, I didn't realize you had a discount." "Well, we've barely had a conversation, so I didn't really have time to tell you!"
Okay, we've barely had a conversation? Cause seriously? I feel like this transaction HAS LASTED MY WHOLE LIFE. And what kind of conversation did you want to have while you were accusing me of losing your receipt? Did you expect us to go out for coffee? Chat for a bit, shoot the shit, talk about how you have a discount card? Is this woman for real?

But that lady doesn't even compare to the woman who stormed up to my register, slammed a book down and said (well, hissed), "I want to speak to a manager and I do NOT want someone with an attitude." Okay. I had just dealt with this woman's mother, who want to return a book and get cash back, even though she paid with a debit card. Our system doesn't take straight debit cards, so I couldn't credit her. I suggested that, since she didn't want merchandise credit, she return to the original store or any other superstores, but since we were a college store I couldn't do it. She said okay and left. Two seconds later psycho lady storms up, and the next 30 minutes were taken with contacting various people and her being a bitch and me basically wanting to smack her for being such a bitch. The store manager finally came down to talk to her and she immediately got super nice and said that I had been very helpful and nice blah blah. Well that's an outright LIE cause she didn't even give me time to be either. HAAAAAAAATE.
